The Beast Of War

Someone saw "The Beast of War" (1988)?

The history of a tank crew in Afganistan that lost the way to kandahar and are hunted by the Mujahidin. In the movie have some intersting cenes:

-The Starshina have the Guards Badge and a Order of Red Star(Huge)
-The Mujahidin Leader have a lot of Medals and Orders in the "Uniform", probably captured ones.(Some Fantasy ones?)
-The Helicopter is a Mi-8/17 (In true is a Super Frelon)
-The Helicoptes pilot and crew have very big, huge, monster wings badges
-The tank in the film is actually an Israeli T-54/55. In the movie, it is made out to be a Soviet T-62.

If someone want talk about...

Thanks

Yeah I saw that movie a long time ago. Nice anti-societ propaganda althought. Look at Rambo III, at the end it says something like, "This film is dedicated to the gallant people of Afghanistan".

I know, that's why it is so funny to see the propaganda threw it.

And what do you say about this ugly "Mi-24 Hind", a Super Puma modified to look like a Hind, and the uniforms.......

I remember while reading a Nationale Volksarmee newspaper in an history library in Paris, I found an article about Rambo 3...and how they criticized the West, the imperialist cinema and its aggresive propaganda films conceived to promote war against socialist camp...

LoL

about cold war american cinema and TV, when I was a kid I enjoyed "Airwolf "or "Firefox, the absolute weapon"...a lot of caricature and "cliches" but a lot of fun too...
More recently, I discovered K-19 the widowmaker, by far more realistic, with more research and not primarily "russian against" like its predecessors (I'm thinking about "The hunt for red october"). The mentalities are better described and more complex.
