one can always say it is very common stuff, it's nevertheless waste...one day we'll run after those common cheap visor caps became rare...because of stupidity.

This card is part of the set of miltary awards.

Where did they gat that weird suspension? Reminds me the ones they use for foreign medals.

Order of Victory from the same set.

The set was published in the 70s - I guess there wasn't much information available on the Soviet awards at that period.

These two pistures look like drawings from wartime UK military intelligence manuals I have seen. If trrue, they would have been working from limited info and photos.

I love this one... A GREAT deal at $2500!

"Russian SMERSH ID BADGE For Col. Antonov Jiergiej Konstantinovich. A Colonel who I understand became a General. Smersh is Russian for "death to spies". Organized in early 1943 specifically for hunting spies, but they more commonly stood behind the battle lines and shot anyone who tried to retreat. In April 1943 the "Smersh" evolved into the NKGB. This ID is 1 of 2 known to exist at this time. After the war these guys destroyed their ID's and changed their names. You can't blame them, it had to be a tough job to have to shoot your own men, unthinkable!! So when I say rare I am serious! I bought these from a close acquaintance, a very sensitive topic that made me quite uneasy."

Tal,

This one is even better:

"Russian Order of Patriotic War Type 1"

"Screw type back, SECOND CLASS-TYPE 1... a true rarity in outstanding condition, valued over $300"

And the seller provides picture of Afghan medal.

Same seller.
