Chief Technical Marshals boards

I see these for sale now and then on E; though the ranks of Marshal of Engineering and Marshal of Signals were issued, the ranks of Senior / Chief Marshal of Engineering and Chief Marshal of Signals were never issued. They were official ranks made in 1943, but never bestowed on anyone before being revoked as ranks in 1983 ( i think is was '83).

So, these boards are not real issue. I did have in a very genuine looking set of Chief Marshal of Engineering boards from 1943 many years ago; I do not think they were fake, probably made for real use, but never issued.

I am sure that the boards coming out of Russia and Ukraine now are just made up though, I do not think they are from real unissued stock. The Engineering set is pretty well done, but the signals set does not show the same details.
