I was informed there were no numbered awards for him listed in podvignaroda. I will check.

He got a Medal for Bravery on 29 August 1944. Look under "Сычев Николай Логвинович", born in 1926, 8th Rifle company, 267 Guards Rifle Regiment, 89 Guards RD.

Re: Guards Private Nikolai Logvinovich Sychev

Podvognaroda can be your worst enemy as well as best friend.

The amount of free research is truly unimaginable but bureaucratic mistakes can make things difficult at best. Then there is finding out about all the things "missing".
There was a group I purchased to a Guards Cavalryman, that I only purchased because I was promised up, down, left, right, A, start that it was complete. Five years later I get the disappointment of finding out it's missing two orders and a medal. Not so complete!

A great tool to find out what you do and do not have.

Re: Guards Private Nikolai Logvinovich Sychev

"First to rush in" to Chisinau - VERY nice. I have a rather soft spot for all things Moldavian.

Sounds like a real "Liberator".
