Mahdi,
I don't remember the site from which I got the letter, and I don't know where the original is. However, I think this letter demonstrates outstanding courage of those cosmonauts. It is almost unthinkable act in the USSR - to point up on defects in the industry, and military and political leadership. Absolutely amazing. 2 diplomas commemorate prominent Soviet figures Korolev Diploma Awarded by the FAI Astronautic Records Commission, the Korolev Diploma was established in 1988 and one may be given each year to technicians or engineers having worked in orbit or on a celestial body in building structures and/or their equipment, or in a non-planned restoration or repair of a broken device to make possible the continuation of a mission, and, on this occasion, having demonstrated human work in space.

I am a space historian, space sciences educator and deals with various aspects of space activities - civilian and military. I am a frequent visitor at international conventions, such as the International Astronautical Congress. (last October I gave a lecture at the world spca congress, held at Houston).
In the 1997 congress ( Turin, Italy), Mishin was a special guest - it was the 40th ann. of the Sputnik. We talked for a while, and met again in some of the meetings of committees. I visited him in Russia 3 years later, when I was invited to an international seminar about science and world affairs. (that is a different story....it was held in a presidential guest complex, not far from the memorial to the place the Germans were stopped. The complex was built in the 70's, and the food was from the same period....). I have just returned from a reception in honour of twice HSU, Colonel Boris Volynov. He is a guest of the Fisher Institute for Air and Space Strategic Studies, which is connected to the Israeli air force. Here is Colonel Volynov and myself:
