Germany. If you see the OG3 by the VOG (as one I've recently posted) you will see they are different shades too.

Re: Ribbons, Ribbon Bars And Order Of Precedence.

Looks like it here. As they are under plastic and would be exposed to the same amount of light it could be an explanation. Maybe a subtly that doesn't get much attention and has been lost or a strange coincidence. The ribbon bars are open to more variation than the painted ones.

Re: Ribbons, Ribbon Bars And Order Of Precedence.

Here is a slightly out of order bar with a lack of Armed Forces commemoratives.

For Combat Merits, Germany, 20, 30, Warsaw, 40.

Re: Ribbons, Ribbon Bars And Order Of Precedence.

Here is another quirky bar.

OPW2, VOG, 20, 30, 60, VOG (probably standing in for the 25 Badge).

CtahhR,
I don't think it's a more or less hot Orange, I in these two examples I see a different Ribbon fabric texture, different manufacturers?

To me this kind of ribbon (OVG- OGIII or II) makes me go crazy.

Re: Ribbons, Ribbon Bars And Order Of Precedence.

I suppose like with any other things there may be those who deliberately create possibly misleading ribbon bars to try to exaggerate their awards. The question "Is that an OG or VOG?" comes with a thought that the person wearing the ribbon may be a brave combatant.

I wonder just how many ribbon bars were created to deliberately mislead? It is rather different to having the awards on your chest - you can instantly tell the difference between an OG, VOG and 25 Badge (and if you can't take some time reading the threads in this forum).

Here is a bar that will mislead no-one.

20 VOG, 15, 10 Years Service.

Already done  and I have not found any useful information to my dilemma, otherwise I would not have asked for opinions.
