Some photos I took in Tashkent on Victory Day 2008
I took these photos on 9 May 2008 at the "Brothers Graves" or "Volgagrad" war monument in Tashkent. There were very few veterans there. Some of these I also saw last year (photos I have not yet posted). In this group you will see three holders of the Bravery Medal (including a woman), one with the Red Star, one woman who seems to no longer have her medals, and a WONDERFUL Uzbek woman and veteran of wartime labor who has maybe the kindest eyes I have ever seen. Belying her appearance, she speaks Russian at the professional university level, but is now quite poor in her retirement.

It was a nice parade to watch on Red Square. And a full cavalier of the Order of Glory was standing right behind President Medvedev on the main tribune.
