Re: Battle Participation documents.
The fourth. Dated the day before Christmas 1944....
Hard to believe this got only one bid on eBay. I saw it listed initially and tossed in a very low minimum bid just to keep track of it figuring 10 GPW documents would go for some descent dough. The cover: I can't translate it because of the lower case. All I can make out is Budapest. Inside: За отличные боевые действия по прорыву сильно укрепленной обороны противника юго-западнее Будапешта и за овладение городами Секешфехервар и гвардии For excellent operations on breaking of strongly strengthened defence of the opponent Southwest (of?) Budapest and for mastering by the cities of Szekesfehervar and guards

Re: Battle Participation documents.
Lucky number seven. Our hero Chinskiy has made it seven months on the front lines without becoming a terminal casualty. Good luck indeed.
The cover: УЧАСТНИКУ БИТВЫ ЗА ДУНАЕМ - TO THE PARTICIPANT OF FIGHT BEYOND DANUBE

Eric, beautiful set. I'm out the door, but #8 is for "the approaches to Vienna".
