Permanent home address of the prospective awardee and the address of his family: _______________ Short, concrete description of his feat of arms or merits: On 3rd July during the fighting for the town of Smolin, comrade Ivanidze, who served as a gun loader, displayed fortitude and worked efficiently and quickly. Comrade Ivanidze's gun fired at its maximum rate of fire. An enemy battery, which had been impeding the advance of our infantry, was suppressed and the infantry broke through to the outskirts of Smolin. On 26th July 1944, during the fighting for the city of Brest, comrade Ivanidze and his gun crew suppressed an enemy artillery battery, which had brought down a massive onslaught on our infantry and had prevented the infantry from advancing; the infantry subsequently achieved success. Permanent home address of the prospective awardee and the address of his family: _______________ Short, concrete description of his feat of arms or merits: On 18th April 1945, during the breakthrough of the enemy defences along the Oder River, comrade Ivanidze, who served as both loader and ammunition bearer, displayed heroism in the performance of his duties. In the course of 1 day of fighting comrade Ivanidze delivered up to 18 shells to his gun and loaded them into the breech. As a result, the battery suppressed the fire of 5 enemy artillery batteries. He deserves the Medal for Courage. Here is the original citation for Guards Corporal Ivanidze's "For Combat Merits" #1513955.
His unit must have been pretty far back from the frontline raining in the fire if it was downgraded from a "For Courage".
