Roy, keep in mind that this is MZPP variation. It is not as common as Krasnokamsk Mint variation. So you've got pretty rare piece :thumbsup

Researched Red Star
I've had this Red Star researched, and of course, we know it was awarded to Stanislav Petrovich Khashkovsky, but who was he, and what did he do to earn this award? Here is the following:
Khashkovsky was born in 1921, in the Vitebskaya Region in Beleruss. He entered the Red Army on October 1940, and was a Guards Senior Sergeant in the 53rd Guards Fighter Regiment at the time of the Red Star being awarded to him. He served as an aircraft mechanic. His awards are as follows: Order of the Red Star February 13, 1945 Defence of Stalingrad Medal December 22, 1942 Victory Over Germany medal May 9, 1945 Capture of Berlin Medal June 9, 1945 Description of Personal Feat or Merits: Comrade Khashkovsky has been participating in the Patriotic War from the very beginning. Since that time he has provided technical service and equipment for 488 missions on fighters "LAGG3", "YAK-1", "YAK-9", and "R-39". None of these missions failed because of technical problems. Facing with great challenges, being short of time, Khashkovsky has been working restlessly. He has restored 18 planes damaged by German anti-aircraft gunners in air battles, repaired 18 petrol tanks and 9 engines. Khashkovsky has never come back from a missionwithout executing it. For brilliant service and perfect technical assistance he has received two money prizes bo order of the Higher Command. While he was studying the structure of foreign fighter "Aerocobra" Khashkovsky managed to study it thouroughly without any manual for the short period of time. During the battles on the 1st Byelorussian Front, in Bobruisk, Lublin and Radov directions he executed several operational flights without delays or technical assiatance for 65 missions. He has received 13 grateful official letters for perfect technical assistance from the Higher Command. For brilliant technical assistance of the equipment which resulted in successful execution of military missions and crushing of the Fascist German Army, Khashkovsky is recommended for the Government award, the Order of the Red Star. |

Nice citation. First time I've seen Aerocobras mentioned.
