Even in US it's not a problem to sell original ones in this price range. If they fake Warsaw medal and Glory 3 order, why wouldn'n they fake $70-80 badge?
Another US based dealer periodically lists faked badges on E at $70. Experienced collectors wouldn't buy them:
I stand corrected then! My comment was based on trying to sell this one that I have for $40, and no one even querying about it... in fact, it's sitting on my desk in front of me! Oh well... Guess ya learn something new everyday! :) Thanks Eugene!

Tal,

I wasn't talking about the one Eugene had posted. I believe both your badges are genuine.

Hello,

Does anyone have an opinion about the authenticity of this badge?

Thanks,
Keith

Keith,

I am not 100% sure, but I believe it's a fake. A genuine badge would have a more clear star on the banner top and a more pronounced line on the pole (or none at all). I have also seen a bunch of fake Estonian Deputy badges with identical screwposts (cut) and screwplates.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Alexei

Guys,

One of the members had asked me a question about the screwpost. Here's a badge, that I don't want to risk my $$ on. I don't have any proof that it is really a fake, but I don't like the fact, that suddently a bunch of identical or almost identical badges became easily available.

Alexei, unless

1) someon'e extensive collection was stolen and is being resold piece-by-piece

or

2) someone sold their extensive collection piece-by-piece

you might be right. There definitely is a similarity between the screwposts...

The two that I just picked up look genuine because the soldering on the bases looks like all the other pieces.

Thanks,

Eric

Well, Alexei, you seem confirm my old doubts about my deputy badge, identic in tone and colour to Tachkentski's badge photo: what warned me is the screwpost unsual, deep crimsom enamel and almost slight defaults of enamel, which doesn't flush perfectly with metal sculptures of waves, star, etc...enamel isn't prefectly flat, with tiny "waves" in contact with metal reliefs...still a nice work if they are definitively fakes...80 usd lost...but my seller is a good one, or was a very good one, overrun by recent fakers...
here're my ref pictures for this badge:

in an ukranian doc only a pinback version is known for recent models

and maybe the original screwback used for copy?
from the 50' version:
