Personally, I wouldn't mind looking at better (larger!) scans of that badge. Fakes of excellent quality have been produced for quite some time and these pictures are far from enough in order to determine originality.

Thanks guys. Big help. I also think that the badge is authentic (the weight and size all match). Ericlida, your metro badge collection is amazing. Getting all 3 badges with documents must have been really expensive. Do they all belong to the same person?

No. The documents are for two different people.
Here is few more VERY RARE and interesting badges - "1st year Metro Kaganovich"
I don't have these badges (they are more than $10000 each) :mad:.
It is just for your information.

Kind of off topic, but here's a document for a later Metro badge. Part of a large group and, sadly, the badge has gone missing.

It is a very nice badge and the document.
The badge is for the builder of Kiev Metro
Here is the documemt with the badge "Veteran of Moscow Metro"

Great looking badges. There is alot of history there. Kaganovich was one of the very last major Stalinist politicians who died fairly recently (1991). Outlasted everyone, if you know what I mean:)) Anyways great looking badges and historically important. But $10,000 that's just too much mulla for me:)
