Glenn,
Wow!!!!! This is quite a document! I remember some time ago there was a Russian guitar for sale on eBay allegedly given by Dzerzhinsky to one of his drivers. I didn't want it as a historic artefact and it was too expensive as an instrument. Alexei |

Tal,
the first one says that Comrade Goriunova had donated to a local CheKa Museum the following documents belonging to her father, who was a personal driver of Dzerzhinsky: - award document for "Honored CheKa" badge; - "Honored CheKa" Badge: - presentation watch; - Order of Lenin; - Order of the Red Banner: - medals; - award documents; - medals. Interestingly the document is not specific enough and does not list all the awards, serial numbers, etc. The second document is even more amazing. It says that she had donated to the Kharkov State Museum of History an original Dzerzhinsky coat. That coat was given by Dzerzhinsky to her father to wear on an urgent mission. Since then it was kept in her family. Alexei |

Glenn,
Nice! The badge on the case is that of an Automotive club sponsored by the Trade Union of Soviet Transportation Workers. I just love those early Soviet designs. Alexei |

Glenn,
This is a rough translation...
He worked under Dzerginsky. In 1920 him and comrade Dzerginsky went to Ukraine to destroy "Maxno " gang... This guy was an anti-revolutionary... Then he was part of VCHKA and OGPU. Later he was bestowed a title of Honorary worker of OGPU. He was awarded Order of Lenin, Red Banner and numerous other medals... Like I said this is rough... Rusty. |
