Infantry NCO
Here is a photo of my infantry NCO uniform. It has the top, trousers, and overseas hat.
I do not know what the first two ribbons on the bar are. This example has the two minor wound stripes. The buttons are blank on the reverse... no dates. |

Here is the ribbon bar. The last two are for the Capture of Berlin and Liberation of Warsaw.

The uniform is very nice, however, the ribbon bar is a little bit strange. Why a polish award (I presume it is) would be in first place and before the order of Lenin?

Estaban,
Thank you for your reply. In the order of precedence, would the Warsaw Medal be postioned before Berlin? If so, maybe the ribbon bar is placed upside down(backwards)? What are the Polish medals represented? |

This is not the Order of Lenin. It is not a Soviet ribbon (too wide...). Ch. Quote:

Maybe a Eastern European that escaped the German invasions, who joined the Soviet military to fight? Did the Soviets use a lot of foreigners?

Paul,
On a Soviet uniform, you wear it applying the Soviet regulations, no matter from where your other awards come... ;) Ch. |

Ok...
The first ribbon strongly resembles the Polish "Victory and Freedom Medal". The second bar, I have not been able to find... |

Polish Ribbons
Paul,
The first ribbon indeed looks like the Victory and Freedom Medal. Strange but this ribbon seems to fade more than most, this isn't the first bar I have seen with this award were it has faded to light brown. The second ribbon looks like the Armed Forces in Service for the Country Medal ribbon. It would be the 3rd class (Bronze) ribbon as the Silver and Gold ribbons have a central white or yellow stripe depending on the Class. Regards Eddie.

Thanks Eddie. What is your take on the odd order of precedence of the bar. I would think that a Soviet Serviceman would have the Soviet medals on the bar before the Polish.
