German Photo of Captured Soviet Flag

Hello All

Thought I'd share a couple of scans of photo I just recieved. Also if anyone could translate the inscription I'd much appricieate it. I tried but couldn't figure it out. The small scan is of the back of the photo.

The back scrawl is legible probably only to the writer himself.

That's another example of the "loopy" signatures I keep seeing on documents - some were even done by assistants or secretaries as indicated by the little ~ or - after the signature. And they also seem to end with what looks in English like what we would call a script "y" for "-ich." I used to think that the main purpose in doing that was to allow counterfeiters to pretty much sign any name they printed on the document. Now I know that only some jerks do that.;)

Thanks desantnik. I thought it might be something like that because of the style of the flag but was hoping for something more exciting.

It's a great shot, but its a civilian / political flag. The images of actual captured unit flags are quite rare. Thanks for posting it though, its well worth having in the forum.
