Table Medal "Distinguished Studying And Exemplary Conduct".

Since we've included diplomas in this "badge" thread, and I don't know where else to put these, I offer for your viewing pleasure two Georgian "high school" graduation top student medals/coins.

I have seen plenty of Ukrainian and a number of RSFSR versions of this medal, but these were the first ones outside of that common realm.

Just a personal note: I've always loved the way the Georgian SSR interpreted the hammer and sickle motif. I don't understand a word of what's written, but based on other republics' versions, the reverse should just say "Georgian SSR" on the gold-plated one and "??? SSR" on the solid silver one.

The gold-plated medal is 40mm and the silver one is 32mm.

I would much rather have had something like this than just some gold tassels and sash for my high school graduation.:)

I'm sure there is some symbolism that I am unaware of with the three "dots" on each of the pages in the books on the obverses of the medals.

From what I've observed of these from other republics, the gold-plated one should be from the period 1960-1985 and the silver from 1954-1960.
