Here is what seems to be a rather plain Cold War period Military Identification Booklet but it has a few twists....

Issued to Private Anatolij Vasil'evich Botnar', a "Ukrainian" born in Palanca, Călărași District of the Kingdom Of Romania on 17th July 1931, Non-Partisan and educated to 7th Class.

Conscripted in April 1952 by Kalarash Regional Military Commissariat, Moldavian SSR and released to the Reserves by the Directorate Of General Staff Of The Army in April 1955. A simple 3 year stint.

A rifleman in the Main Administration Of Camps, Ministry Of Internal Affairs (GULAG MVD).

His unused "Red slip" in the back for mobilisation.

Showing him demobilising back to his home village with the instruction that if he is recalled to go to the Pioneer Camp.

This insert states he was a Member of the Communist Party from the age of 16 and working at the Collective Farm "Ukraine" after demobilisation.

This second ("Identical" insert shows his wife as Lidija and (twin?) daughters Ljudmilla and Tamara born 1957.

Here is an example for Aleksandr Nikolaevich Belikov.
Born 11th November 1930 in Tashkent and living in Kujbyshev Region of Tashkent with the civilian specialised trade of Metal Turner and married to Raisa Grigor'evna.

Called (and fit) for military service by Kirov Regional Military Commissariat on 20th October 1950 and dismissed on 20th October 1954.

He was a cadet at Military Unit 54815 (51st Military Aviation School For Mechanics, Azerbaijan) from October 1950 to June 1951.

An Aviation Technician For Aircraft Jet Engines at Military Unit 49706 (2nd Guards Orshansk Red Banner Order Suvorov 3rd Class Bomber Aviation Regiment, Trans-Caucasian Military District, AzSSR) from June 1951 to September 1953.

An Aviation Technician For Aircraft Jet Engines at Military Unit 19116 (Anti-Aircraft Defence AzSSR)

Looks like he maintained MIG-15s as the 2nd Guards was 30 MIG-15s strong in 1951 and reached the rank of Sergeant.
