Company For The Air Defence Of Sofia "Simeon The Great" Identification.

Although many will think only on the ARP of Great Britain when thinking of civilian air raid wardens of the war here is a Company For The Air Defence Of Sofia "Simeon The Great" Under The Garrison of the Union Of Civil Societies For Anti-Aircraft And Chemical Defence Of The Population Of The Tsardom Sofia Identification from 1939 to 26 year old Vasil Aleksandrov Velichkov. This anti-air raid warden was set up well in advance of Bulgarian hostilities. Sofia was bombed in April 1941 and then from November 1943 until April 1944. A total of 1468 Bulgarians (and their allies) were killed in raids during their time with the Axis.
