Fake Order "For Bravery".

This medal offered right now just doesn't seem right. Doesn't seem to have the same quality as Rusty's. Comments?

OK I received two more photos:

I saw this on ebay too, looks fake to me. The quality is not there.

Looks "aluminumish" and details don't look as crisp as real ones, especially on reverse.

Danny,

These are not much better. :( I was looking for a clearer scan of the inscription on the back. Looks like the letters are a bit distorted, especially in the middle; loop is very thick, exactly like I have seen on fake pieces; serial number looks sloppy, but it may be just my imagination.

Agreed Alexei. the loop is very different to Rusty's. I'll pass on this one.

Another one listed on our favourite website. An opinion please? Thanks

Danny,

I am skeptical because of the ring. Also is it my imagination, or letters on the back are too big?

Rusty, what do you think?

The ring should be soldered.
There are little things that are off.

Rusty.

Re: Fake Order "For Bravery".

This thread has gone a little quiet. I would like to offer this item for discussion. Fake or Authentic?
Cheers,
Will

Re: Fake Order "For Bravery".

Another poor quality fake. The state Orders were (and probably still are) only made by the state mint and not external contractors so variation is minimal.

Probably the best way to ensure the authenticity of a RF Order is to give a donation to the state and be awarded it. (Reports of this can be found elsewhere on the forum)

Re: Fake Order "For Bravery".

Thanks for the response. The item is on a popular auction site and is being sold as original. The reverse also has very dark (assuming artificial) patina, MMD mint mark and serial.
