Help with Photo / Uniform?

I never bought a foto before.
i simply found them not that interesting at all.

now here i stumbled upon this picture.

i just love te overall look.

but i know nothing about it.
what can you all tell me about it ?

what does him make one ,, what is a gimnazist ?
what period ? time frame ?

what more is there possibly tot tell about this particular picture and uniform

He looks like a 12 year old, I thought it was a child in uniform at first.
Very nice picture though, interesting they had uniforms for gymnazists.

A gimnazia was a pre-revolutionary high school. The term is being used again post Soviet-era.

The term itself has no overt, military significance.

The same name is used for the non-mandatory upper school years 16-19 in both Finland and Sweden, spelled Gymnasium.

ya in Holland we have gymnasium's too ,, its the highest middle school.
it includes classic languages like Greek and Latin.

at witch time frame can we put this foto ?
at first i Thoth just prior to ww2 or after.

but yesterday my eye fell on the double piping, witch suggest imperial.

and thoughts on that mather ?
