Here is another research I just received for a HSU.

Very interesting and impressive! I wanted to share it with you

Awarded to Private 1st class Evgenij Aleksandrovich Dertev, 8th Rifle company, 3rd Rifle battalion, 1185th Rifle regiment, 356th Rifle division.

Upon arrival at the regiment, Comrade Dertev proved to be a brave and heroic soldier. Improving his combat skills day to day, studying enemy tricks, in operations in August and September he appeared a war hero by banishing and destroying German invaders. In the fights for the settlement of Peredel Comrade Dertev was given the task to burst into the enemy trenches and create panic. Armed with grenades, with a group of soldiers he approached the German weapon emplacements from a detour, bombarded with trench bombs, opened submachine-gun fire, thus causing the enemy to panic, which our sub-units used to take Peredl village and some spoils of war.

During the operations for Krivcheye village, Comrade Dertev was on a flank with five soldiers so as to strike from the flank, but he was detected by the enemy who sent a platoon of submachine gunners against the five brave men, but Comrade Derter kept his head and went into combat with outnumbering enemy, refuted three attacks and put the enemy at fight, he also destroyed up to 15 fascists, including one officer. He was wounded but did not leave the battlefields. For a whol month he fought with his head and arm bandaged. In operations for Chumaki village Comrade Dertev's personal example and heroism raised young soldiers to fight and destroy the German fiends. With a group of soldiers, the prospective awardee refuted two German counter-attacks and was the first to enter Chumaki village killing 7 Hitlerites with bayonet and rifle butt.

In operations for the Klybansk khotrs on the right bank of the Dnieper, Comrade Dertev displayed exceptional bravery and heroism moving 50 meters forward to the German trenched with an automatic rifle; staying camouflaged for 3 days without sleeping or eating, he hit the Germans and thus prevented them from launching counter-attacks and enabled his elements to secure the occupied lines, after which he was taken to the regiment defence line.
