RGD-33 grenade pouch
What can be said about this RGD-33 grenade pouch? Unfortunately I cannot find a year of manufacturing at the stamp.
Until when was the RGD-33 grenade in use by the Russian Army? I read that it was replaced during the war by the RG-42 grenade. But can it also be manufactured after the war? Some sources said that RGD-33 grenades also came across by US soldiers during the Vietnam War. |

It's WW2 time production.

Re: RGD-33 grenade pouch
Looks fine to me. This pattern of grenade was not made after the war.
These pouches can be found in a variety of materials and slightly different contruction styles. Here is mine. Cheers, Ade.

Shown here with the contents.
The grenades are original but inert. Paint is new, as some idiot had rubbed them down removing all the original finish down to bear metal. They are made by two different makers.

Re: RGD-33 grenade pouch
Sorry for my delayed reaction but thanks for your replies. I understand that the RGD-33 hand grenade was replaced in 1942 by the RG-42 hand grenade. The RGD-33 was too complicated to manufacture and to use. Therefore it was replaced. Some sources say that the RGD-33 was still in use on a small scale in 1944.
Because of the replacement of the RGD-33 hand grenade in 1942 the grenade pouch was not longer made after 1942. The RGD-33 hand grenade pouch can be found in a variety of materials, different pattern and colours. The khaki variant was meant for ground forces, the blue variant for naval forces, the grey variant should be meant for use in pole and mountain areas and the white variant was a winter camouflage variant.
