Fake Badge "Excellent In The Socialist Competition".

I got this badge one month ago. All I understand from the Cyrillic is "honorable student" but i'm not quite sure about that. It's nicely made from Moscow Mint, with hot enamel, i think in the late 80's.
Does anybody recognize what this badge is?
Regards
Simo

Re: Little uknown badge

Avers8 tells me it's made from bronze (with enamel and a screwback) and instituted in 1956. Indeed, the screwpost, real enamel and hand engraving of a serial number makes me think 50s, not 80s.

Ya know, as I was staring at the back of that I thought to myself 'the Moscow mintmark looks funny somehow'.
Considering the alleged worth in Avers (400-600) I can see why they're faking these.

Re: Little uknown badge

Nooo, another fake from the "Baltic" mint! At least I got some more practice with these types of badges:(! The only thing that make me suspicious is the too flat mint mark on the screwback (left one is from a genuine distinguished military service medal, right one from my little fake:( badge) but for the rest this badge is very well made. Thank you for open my eyes Olezha11!

It's very well made, no wonder you made a mistake. The screwplate is fake as well. The guy name Kasharik sells these on e-bay.

Eric, it's not just "funny" so in keeping with the requests to explain why we think some things are fakes. The beginning and end for me are the letters "М" "М" and "Д." Individually, they don't look like much, especially when they are spread out rather than evenly spaced. They are also not in a straight line with each other. Just about 98% of the old block letter mint marks were ММД or even closer together than the screen will let me.

I can hear Alexei's words of advice coming back to me now: "Always look at the mint mark first and you may find that you don't need to waste anymore of your time" [and I added] "other than commenting, "Fairly nice reproduction. When I make a movie or produce a play I'll give you a call. Unless, you have something for real collector that you could show me.
