Soviet Banner from Ukraine.

Hi All - I am new to the forum and hope to learn a lot. I received this beautiful banner from Ukraine in Wonderful condition. VERY heavy and measures 160cm x 130cm. It is one sided and the embroidery is VERY tight. All the gold fringe on three sides is there ! I was told it was stored in Lenin's room of Dnipropetrovsk regional committee of the party. Such a wonder piece. Is it alright to store velvet folded? I can't find a photo icon for uploading here are the links. Thanks All :)

Welcome to the forum! How did you determine the connection to Dnepropetrovsk other than a story?

I prefer to roll my flags and banners. Folding will leave a crease.

No problem and I didn't intend to squash your enthusiasm. I will caution however that buying militaria on a story alone can lead to big disappointment.

I have all the flags and banners rolled too. I have a rather large bundle rolled up and wrapped in plastic, out of the sun and with mothballs close.

Also, never buy an unattributable item on a story. Dealers will make up any story, from the mundane but believable to complete works of fiction, just for a few bucks. We all get burnt from time to time, experiences we learn from.
