I'm not sure who would bother to fake this document, but the writing still looks like the author was trying too hard. Newbie paranoia or legit concern?

Nackowicz,
I have a document with the same type of "stiff" letters... October Revolution order #16588 (1971)

So I guess arthritis was setting in for the document-filler-outers in the 70’s then. :)

Thanks for the help.

Tim,

I believe I recognize this hand-writting, and I think the document is genuine.

BTW, they are faked very frequently.

Questionable HSU and Suvorov Documents

To all:

First off, thanks to Tal Inbar for cluing us in to this guy from Vilnius and his bogus "Full Cavalier" set. In checking out his other items (currently listed on a well-known auction site), he also has copies of a HSU and a Suvorov II with documents.

Although I'm no expert when it comes to HSU and Suvorov documents, I am when it comes to Full Cavalier booklets. Based on the bad Full Cavalier booklet he currently offers, I can only surmise that there are problems with his HSU and Suvorov documents. I leave that judgment to the forum's collective wisdom.

Regards,

I wonder why the seller provided such low quality shots of a group that should fetch well over $10,000!!! :hurl

What's interesting to me is that the pages of the documents appear to be fairly well done. Not perfect fakes by any means, but better than I could do. However, the covers are just disgusting... :hurl If this guy got real covers, he could probably do a very convincing job of faking the entire document (like some of the ones that one of our dearly departed members owned...)

Guys,
We are talking about two different sellers.
The seller from Vilnus is selling copies of Orders (Suvorov-II, Khmelnitsky-I, Glory - 3classes, HSU) with the Documents. The documents to those orders are also copies. He is stating this.
Another seller that is selling this huge group of orders is saying that the orders are original. If they are original the group is much, much... more than $10,000.00.

Eric.

...
I have to agree with Ericlida - the seller of Glory set, HSU and Suvorov with docs clearly states that both documents and awards are copies.

No need to blame him, he's being honest.

Eric.
Second seller - if the group would be original, just the Suvorov 3 cl Type 1 would cost around $10,000 and the entire collection would be over $20,000.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like his top awards are authentic (as much as one can judge by poor quality of the photos). Details are crude, patina looks artificial and the absence of the McDaniel paperwork is just a deal killer.

William

Guys,

If you look at the cover of the HSU and Suvorov documents you will see that both are fakes - the grain is too big.
