Badge "Southern Group Of Forces 1956-1991".

Here is the Badge "Southern Group Of Forces 1956-1991". This Badge was handed out (without documentation) to all members of the withdrawing Soviet Group from Hungary in 1991. Made at Leningrad Mint and very much the size, quality and build of a Medal. Many years ago I read a report that this was intended to be a Medal but due to the disarray in the Soviet Union at the time wasn't instituted as such. I have frequently seen these remounted on a 5 sided kolodka with a crimson ribbon and worn as a Medal.
