Uniform Reference Site.

Hello to all,

If you need reference on post-1957 Hungarian uniforms, take a look at Nephadsereg.hu It's my site, it is in Hungarian, but the pics could be useful for anybody, who is interested in Hungarian militaria. I am planning to make an English version. What do you think would be there demand for it?

Thanks for the help, regards from Budapest, Sandor Molnar

I have a Hungarian camo set similar to your 87-M one, but there is velcro for a rank tab. I was given it when I parachuted at Szolnok. I think I have the beret somewhere too.

Graet site! I am always looking for some information about Soviet Block militaria. I await english version.

Btw. I have a book on airforce uniform, that was published in a series in early 90's. It does cover Hungarian uniforms, however there's little in the way of detailed information (and the information in this books proved to be far incomplete and inacurate about other countries uniforms) and the pictures are are rather ugly, but if You are interested i can post some scans and/or text.

Sandor, I can't find the beret right now - there was also a really long knife too, supposedly paratrooper issue.

Desantnik, thanks for the pictures! You have a nice 87M paratrooper field tunic. It's highly interesting that the rank insignia is sewn on, I have never seen this method. Thanks, Sandor

Al-muell, will make the English version, it's only a question of time. I would appreciate if you could post some pictures your book has on Hungarian uniforms. Thanks, Sandor

szervusz Sandor,
Hungarians had really nice uniforms! I loved the 1950ties artillery one!
I´m looking forward to see the english version of your site! good luck!

Hola Esteban! Yes, the 51M and 52M uniforms are really nice, may be because they are just like the Soviet ones. Will let you all know when the English version is ready. Á luego, Sandor
