Good job. I know everyone would be interested in seeing the process as it comes along, or perhaps some blueprints with measurements in case anyone wants to build their own. That would make an interesting topic in and of itself.

Auke,
Very nice! I was thinking about building something similar. Mind if I borrow your idea? Alexei |

Hi everybody
I can give one more idea for you To have a good display (it’s my opinion) you need to build it from 2 parts One is a slim wooden box and another one is a frame connected by the hinges to the box |

I started collecting British and Commolnwealth meadals about 2 years ago and this quickly turned to world medals. Apart from the British medals my accumulation of Soviet ODM has been the most enjoyable and engaging, thanks majorly to this fantastic forum and the people who make it.
I display my medals in wooden frames with material backing and glass on the front. I place screwbacks on a small piece of material the same colour and pin it to the backing. Here are pictres of one wall (of what my Mrs calls "The medal room") which contains about 30 cases-and the top and bottom 1/2 of my Soviet case. At this stage I am looking for one example of each ODM and will worry about types and variations later on. |
