Re: Doc's Collection of Orders

Doc,

Koopyetz pretty much nailed it. The first concave back OBHs were minted with a specific die on which the worker has straight overalls, without any evidence of a belt. All subsequent issues had the belt on.

Two other Orders

My take after reading my reference material is that the Order of Badge of Honour is that it is a T4, variation 2 (SN1198598).

Re: Thoughts on this Red Star

Mark,

If you read some of the other threads and posts, you'll see that PMD's classification is now outdated. I'd suggest that you use Mondvor's one instead which is up to date and much more detailed. Even a non Russian speaker should be able to figure it out.

need help with BoH repair

Hi All,

The first letter "C" popped off an Order of the Badge of Honor that I have. Does anyone know of a good way to repair this?

Thanks!

Re: need help with BoH repair

Alex,

Just a touch of transparent silicon should do the job perfectly.

Re: need help with BoH repair

Yeah, something benign like Marc suggests, or take it to a jewller and have it professionally repaired.

Thanks for the suggestions! :thumbsup I think rather than risk screwing it up, I'll take it to a jeweler.

Alex,

You can't screw up using silicon. If something is not right, just dip everything in acetone and start again.

I always use Krazy Glue, just a tiny drop does it.
