Good medal in a good condition. Of course the suspension is not correct, but it doesn't matter much.

Re: Medal "For The Liberation Of Prague".
This is my Liberation of Prague document. I believe the name is Krachenko Vladimir Konstantinovich? Is this correct? Can anyone help with his rank and unit that issued the document.
Thank you |

Issued to Guards Private Vladimir Konstantinovich Kravchenko, dated August 5th, 1946 by the Commander of the 151st Independent, and I can not make out the rest. It is signed by Lieutenant-Colonel Kuz'menko.

Re: Medal "For The Liberation Of Prague".
That's the 151st Separate Correctional-Reconnaissance Aviation Novgorod Regiment. They sent their planes up to see if artillery fire needed to be adjusted - the same sort of thing balloon observers did but in planes.
The name is a common one but there are no 151st matches on "the site".

Re: Medal "For The Liberation Of Prague".
Thank you both. I'm encouraged that I'm getting closer to translating names correctly.

Re: Medal "For The Liberation Of Prague".
Unusual, "duplicate" document awarded to Guards Sergeant Peter Semenovich Gavaza by the 146 Guards Signals Battalion. Note the amount of attention to replicating the document's size, layout, and even type ink color.
This doc begs the question whether the unit ran out of documents and couldn't just issue another or whether the serial number was so important that even a supply of additional docs couldn't correct the lack of the original. |
