Re: Shopping!
Oh, I might be! :D
Got any pics? And are they suitable for every day wear? :) Also I was wondering if this was a good deal? KGB Uniform, 40 bucks usd. Found it on E. Would be good for me for my first Soviet Uniform, and the price seems right eh? :D |

Re: Shopping!
Commissar,
I'd like to see more detail shots of the 'KGB' tunic...Tretov has a superb selection of postwar items, he is a better source than e-bay for nice postwar cloth items (though sometimes a bargain does show up on E!). DougD |

Re: Shopping!
Yes. Its a rare tunic, so I question how the insignia is applied, if the insignia is real, etc. For the price the seller is offering its a bargain (or its not right). For one I'd like a better feel for it...is the insignia (real or repro) just added? etc. Not a huge risk for $40, but you asked. Rare+on E+low price+not great photos=not a great feeling. Not sure I can add much more unless I was able to handle it. What is his return policy?

Re: Shopping!
The patch looks wrong...if this is supposed to be an honor guard uniform, the patch should be embroidered, not thermomolded plastic. If anything, the plastic looks like it was painted gold. Unless it is canary yellow, or embroidered, I say this was put together.

Re: Shopping!
Commissar,
IMHO :thumbsdown As already pointed out, the insigna look somewhat strange. I believe that this is a usual tunic on which KGB-type stuff was added. Marc |

Re: Shopping!
Commissar, If I were you I´d wait some more time before buying KGB stuff, since it is, let´s say, more "advanced". I´ve been collecting for 7 years and I still think I´m not mature enough for it. I´d rather buy a normal infantry or air force EM uniform and try to complete it.
You may get it for the same price or even more, but at least you won´t have that nasty knot in your throat that´ll cause you spending your cash in a blank uniform with fake insignia added.

Re: Shopping!
Maybe your right Esteban, but what is the difference between KGB uniforms and regulars aside from insignia?
