Short, concrete description of the personal combat feat or merits:

On April 13, 1945 he was servicing a section of a telephone cable near Govorany [Hovorany] and height 266. Disregarding the enemy artillery and mortar fire he supported the uninterrupted communications between the commander of the 110th Mountain Rifle Division and the command of the 49th Bucharest Rifle Corps in the course of twenty-four hours.

On April 24, 1945, north of Otnice, he repaired 4 breaks in a telephone cable in the course of fifteen minutes under enemy artillery fire, despite looming danger to life. He then fitted a bypass line to support the communications with the command.

Furthermore, comrade I.A. Tishchenko was lightly wounded twice during the fighting for the socialist motherland: in March 1943 near Tiraspol and in January 1944 near Melitopol while serving with the 4th Ukrainian Front.

Conclusion: he deserves the Order of the Red Star.
