Re: Guards Badges
I have a guards badge on a private's uniform I bought, and the owner made a nice plastic outline of the badge to tighten the badge to the uniform. The badge aside looks well, like all the others, haha.

Re: Guards Badges
I was offered an inexpensive light, later issue Guards badge with the Russian letters for "SNG" or "Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)" instead of "CCCP". Anyone seen another of these?

Re: Guards Badges
Paul,
I've never seen or heard of one. What is the logic for this badge since there is no integrated defense force at the CIS level, therefore how can there be a Guard unit? Marc |

Re: Guards Badges
I don't know. I know Russia tried some form of integrated military with Belarus at least, maybe it is connected with that.

Re: Guards Badges
Yeah, they did.
And perhaps in the early 90s they thought it could be done? Or maybe it is just a fake. Edit: Not a fake! A fantasy piece! Last edited by Commissar; 07-01-2009 at 12:19 PM. Reason: No fake. |

G'day Paul, Won't the vendor provide you with a photo or scan prior to purchase? I love Guards Badges, particularly the WW II pieces. At last count I have 45, 15 of which are WW II types. Regards, Jim |
