BDU jacket
Hola everyone. I haven't gotten anything lately, so I've been quiet around here. But, yesterday I picked up a jacket which confuses me.
It looks like a late-USSR officer BDU jacket, but its got these wierd shoulderstrap "wrappers" (I'm sure they have a name). The guy who I bought it from said he thought it was Polish. Any ideas? Here's the stamp inside. Looks like (I think) the usual USSR stamps. Last edited by CtahhR; 04-17-2014 at 07:55 AM. |

Nack,
I am not well versed in late soviet stuff, so all I can say is that: . the boards are not soviet . the jacket itself does not bother me overly being soviet Marc |

Thanks Marc. I was pretty sure the boards were not Soviet, but I think the jacket is. It's dated 1987 I think, so it is from the Soviet period. Could it be some sort of lend-lease stuff to a middle-east country? They tend to use those wrapper shoulderboards.

Tim,
The fabric seems to be a bit heavy for those "exotic" places. Marc |

The boards may be of Yugoslav Militia. I don't remember what rank it is, but 1 grade higher than Milic'nik, so something like senior militiaman.

Stamp is definitely Russian. Someone probably added the shoulderboards to make it more appealing.
