Parachute Badge.
Here is a PLAAF airborne badge. I've always found it interesting that the PRC airborne division is part of the Air Force.
The back reads: 中国人民解放军空军赠 - 跳伞纪念 which translated (very loosely:rolleyes:) means "Bestowed by the People's Army Air Force to commemorate parachute jumping." This is similar to Bragg & Turner's #2189 and I'm thinking this is 1950's - 1960's period can anyone confirm?

Re: PRC Parachute Badge
Poor construction, a pin similar to the THOUSANDS of other Chinese made fakes, a lack of contour (as Chinese made fakes) and paint being used in place of enamel.
Nearly all the Chinese made fake items have the "flat" appearance, use paint in place of enamel and also usually state what the item is on the back. If you look through the forum you will find many other items from very early Soviet Republic Orders to quite modern DPRK fakes all produced like this in China.

Re: PRC Parachute Badge
We've ALL be tempted to buy these Chinese made bits in the past. Either tricked into believing they are real or just for the novelty. I have a few that I picked up for "pennies".
The Chinese fakes are all basically worth metal value as there are millions of them out there. The best thing about them is they are usually very obvious.
