Well, Due to the different uses both items have, I´d say they cannot be compared... A shashka or any kind of sword was to be used everyday, in combat or field (and obviously suffering some weathering because of that), and crowns didn´t. And concerning to its costruction, I suppose the hungarian royal crown is made of precious metals and stones, and these do not rust, as far as I know. Steel and/or iron do rust with the years.

Hi, i am new on this forum, i am a collectionner of russian schaschka a have 10 of them, i live in FRANCE and i have 3 real wermacht cossack schaschka.
I can say that the alfred`s one is ok.

A part of my shashka collection
It is the 1/2 of my collection, because i have draguner and bebut and a asiatic one.
I will try to make other pictures of it, i live in france and actualy there is not sun enough to make good pictures.
