During our army’s period of combat actions at the beginning of 1943 he was awarded the Medal for Combat Merit. Since the very beginning of this year’s combat operations comrade Plakhtin has been situated with the frontline units (the 107th, 109th and 164th Tank Brigade), widely covering their combat actions and presenting the top heroes of the fighting, their self-sacrificing conduct and their military skills. As a military writer, comrade Plakhtin primarily works with the 11th Guards Brigade, where he has been spending his time since March 3 of this year. Comrade Plakhtin provides a lot of material for the newspaper. re: Red Star, writer for the Leninskoye znamya,592703
Kiwi,
Very nice Red Star citation! Actually I find this more interesting than a combat citation. Not to take away from their history...there's just more of them. Come on...the last line of "He has been maintaining a lot of correspondence with German-fascist scoundrels about atrocities, in which he demonstrated the barbaric psyche of the Hitlerites bandits" is worth the price of admission alone. Congratulations on obtaining what I feel to be a unique and rare award to a writer.:thumbsup Gerry NTAT |
