Your Red Star could have been issued in 1945 or a bit later based on the serial number.

Your Order of Glory is a late WW2 1945 award according to a small database I have compiled.

Hi Everyone.

I just acquired this piece and I know it's probably not worthy of news but to me its another step closer to a decent collection!!!

Cheers again for everyone's help and suggestions over the last few months.

The gold plating is not original.

Hi....that worries me..Are you saying that it is a forgery or that the gold was reapplied at some stage..

The goldplating is not original. It was re-applied.

I can't speak for the Glory itself.

Rusty.

I purchased this from a well known dealer in the US. Should I be asking some questions???. I saw a very similar og at the beginning of this post which appears to also have a good amount of gold. Is that also reapplied?

Cheers

Try asking

is this order genuine?

Then it could be a good idea to ask the seller to send it to PaulMcDaniel, if fake you save your money, if real the value of the award increases.

Hi,

center medallion of your glory is worn...and if so, then also gold must be away from this worn surfaces. Gold of this order is 100% reapplied. But glory himself i think is OK. That's my opinion only, let's see what other have to say.

Regards,

Lauri

Hi Lauri and others,
To me also, it is clear that gold plating was applied recently after the center medallion has been well worn.

The order also looks authentic by itself, but how to know whether it was a 3rd class with low number that was gold plated to be maliciously "upgraded" to a 2nd class or simply a real 2nd class which was re plated?

In any case, I find this sad, because I always preferred awards in their original state as much as possible. That includes enamel, gold plating, ribbon, suspension, etc... I prefer when it's not damaged, but I will prefer something damaged by the time that something restored and looks too new. JMHO.

Any good dealer will take it back, they should of told you it was re-plated.
They would have known that. Personally I would send it back.
