Award Card dated May 8th, 1997 (Victory Day), Kalynivka, Vinnyts'ka oblast, Ukraine, as Squad Leader 828th Infantry Regiment, an unnumbered Order of the Red Star by the 197th Infantry Division, signed by Colonel E. Chernelevsky of the Regional Military Commissariat.

I do not think Sergeant Grosh received his Order of the Red Star, and may have been deceased at the time this Order Book was given to his family.

Citation reporting the assault on the outskirts of the village of the city of Meysin on May 5th, 1945 wherein Sergeant Grosh assumed command and, following the retreat of the enemy, forty soldiers and officers were captured.

Sergeant Gosh was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class, in 1985 as well as the Medal for the Liberation of Prague dated November 28th, 1945, by the Commander of the 14th Guards Rifle Division, Guards Major Kotel'nikov, Serial #A027478.

The 40 soldiers were killed actually ("left behind on the battlefield" by the enemy, as it's euphemistically called).
