Badge "For Active Work" DOSAAF.

Gentlemen,

I just thought that I would share my DOSAAF "For Active Work" badges with everyone. Of course, they are the 20 x 35 mm badge (this example has a pin-back, rather than a screw-back as referred to in the description at page325, item 1584a of AVERS 8) and the 56 x 92 mm screw-back badge (1584b).

It is indeed interesting to note that this badge was established in June 1952 to,"encourage members of the society", and that from April 1955 until February 1958 it was considered the highest award of the DOSAAF.

I don't know how I got along before I acquired my copy of the AVERS Series, especially Numbers 5 & 8. If I could just find a copy of,"Soviet Second World War Veteran Badges", I would be happier. Can anybody help?

Cheers,

Jim

Re: help with badge

Centaur,

Your large badge was for pinning on a banner.

Re: help with badge

G'day Marc,

Any photos of such use of this large, heavy, screw-back badge? Thanks.

Cheers,

Jim
