Marshal Of The Soviet Union Autographs.

I came accross this letter signed by Marshall Zhukov.

He signed this review of Colonel who was considered for promotion to the next position, Major General, by his immediate superior officer.

This colonel was in the red army from 1929, in WW2 from 1941, awarded many orders and medals. He was quite a hero with impressiwe awards:
- 2 Red Banners (Sept 27, 1944 and May 7, 1945),
- Kutuzov 2cl (May 31, 1945),
- GPW 1cl (Oct 30, 1943) and 2cl (Dec 20, 1944),
- 2 Red Stars (Sep 10, 1942 - Stalingrad? - and March 11, 1944),
- Medal for Victory over Germany.

However, his superior's superior decided to block the promotion because he was in a general position for only a short period of time, 6 months. His superior commanders who agreed to not promote him, included Colonel General Kazakov (commander of artillery Soviet occupation forces in Germany, later Artillery Marshall of Soviet Union).

Marshall Zhukov wrote word "agree" and signed. His position was Supreme Commander of Soviet Occupation Forces in Germany, Marshall of Soviet Union.

This is the description:

"Official award letter signed by Soviet Ministry of Defence D. Ustinov about conferring the military rank "Admiral" to O. Kuznetzov. "

Wow! This is interesting, and I have never seen anything like this before. Don't know if it is genuine, but something like this would be easy to fake.

I can't read the above text - I wonder if it is an important matter or just an order to change the colour of the toilet paper in the HQ of the Northern fleet...

Document dated 1936 signed by Komandarm (in command of army) of 1st rank B. Shaposhnikov, who became marshal of the Soviet Union in 1940.

I just could not help it, so I bought it. (a problem that I know ALL of you can sympathize with...)

I am examining it, and as for now all I am capable of saying is that I am convinced that the document is 100 % authentic.

I is very difficult to tell if the signature is by hand or stamped.
I compared it to other documents with hand written signatures, and the ink - which is purple - look like hand signed.

Also, it is likely that the minister of defence will sign such a document by himself - how many Konter-admirals he had to congratulate?

Order of Soviet Ministry of Defence Marshal D. Ustinov about awarding Kuznetsov the rank of Nontr-Admiral.

To complete the set:

Official congradulation letter issued to Admiral Kuznetzov and signed by Deputy Minister of Defence of USSR Marshal Sokolov.

This is part of a group for sale, and signed by minister of defense CCCP Grechko. It is different from the one I have (for admiral Kuznetsov) in that mine does not have the round stamp...:(

I have seen several very very similar documents as parts of KGB sets. I don't think any of them had stamps, just signatures. Unfortunately I don't have them, I just translated them.
