Artistic photos

Ok, I would like to see the photograph skills of our members here. I don't pretend that I'm doing "artistic" pictures, but I just tried and I'd like to see what you guys can do. I will start the ball with some pictures and I hope some of you will join their pictures to this thread.

I will try to do better if some of you are participating.

They are really cool! When I'll be back home (I'm in France until the end of October) I'll post some pictures of my soviet collection to share with other members.

The guy on Stalingrad picture wears special anti-bullet metal jacket, prototype of kevlar. Those jackets in Red Army used in limited number of units, mostly in Assault Engineer Sapper Brigades (Shturmovie Inzhenerno-Sapernie Brigadi). I believe this soldier belonged to one of those units.

Was it very effective those "bullet proof jackets"?

They were very effective, especially against shells. I'm not sure about rifle bullets, but it depends on the distance. But they were really heavy, so only huge guys were able to carry them for long time.

Nice group to torpedo-boat crew member. But I would translate his rank as Senior Sailor, because the word "Major" interacts with officer's rank.

Some of my friends outside in the fresh air.
I'm experimenting with camera settings, lighting and image sizing.

Image 2 and 3 were resized to 1000 pixels in width which exceeds the forum's 800 pix guidelines. I think that the height being less than 600 pix makes them uploadable. I'm going on the assumption now that maximum uploadable pixels are 1600 when adding width plus height of image.

This one was 1714 pix. Hmmm...
