Ushakov,04534,Senior Sailor,Separate Brigade Of Patrol Ships Of Border Troops

Hi gentlemen,
these days I took this Medal, because even if very worn, and with the almost hidden by serial number 4534 in 1534, looking good it seemed genuine, and the price was really a small thing.
Your opinion I would be appreciated, and ask me additional photos.

Re: Fake Ushakov Medals

With my usual disclaimer about not authenticating from photos I can say that the medal looks good. I believe the serial number is 4534. Could be a good candidate for research.

Thanks Alexei, is very nice to receive your comment. :):):)

From the book of cavaliers of Ushiakov I found his name:

Медалью Ушакова № 4534 награжден старший краснофлотец Чемоданов Евгений Васильевич.
Приказ Командира Отдельной бригады сторожевых кораблей Черноморскоко флота № 1с от 17.08.1944.

That has allowed me to find the citation on PN.

The suspension is very well built, but the chain does not seem the right one...

I tend to think that the suspension is not genuine, but I would need to examine it personally. the chain also looks like a replacement.

I agree with you :thumbsup, but perhaps this section of chain may be the only native, because he is the only one that presents the classic metal streaks.

Re: Fake Ushakov Medals

I am sorry, I can't tell for sure from photos. BTW, I have seen chains made with genuine flat links and replacement round links, so anything is possible.

I can do something to help in your evaluation?
Unfortunately I do not have the opportunity to show it to you in person, because marcotk, do not go to more regularly in the USA.
:idea maybe I can facilitate you with the scans?

CtahhR :thumbsup

Yes, I require the record as soon as possible, I waited because I wanted to be certain that the medal was ok.
