Re: Defense of Stalingrad medal certificate
Eric, following your request to see the rear side of the document, I made more scans but I only manage to get something like these. The full document is sliced in three parts. I hope that they will be okay for you to make your assessment.

Re: Defense of Stalingrad medal certificate
A pretty typical, and old repair Sergio, thank you.

Re: Defense of Stalingrad medal certificate
I have asked the seller of this one for close-ups of the medal itself, but in the meantime, my first concern is the "newness" of the document. It appears awfully white for paper that old.
Though I'm not planning on acting on this one anytime soon, even if everything is okay with it, I would appreciate some opinions or observations. (The back of the document shows that it is taped together across the folds, but even dim-witted thieves could "age" a document by folding it up and carrying it around in a back pocket for a week or so.) Thanks, Phillip In the preview of this post, it looks like the image resolution may not be good enough to determine anything - so I will understand if no one responds.:)

Re: Defense of Stalingrad medal certificate
Phillip,
Granted, scans are not tip-top. From the look of it, it seems to be OK. Of course larger, brighter scans would not hurt... Marc |

Re: Defense of Stalingrad medal certificate
I'm no documents expert but the overall wear looks OK to me. I think it's been folded for much of it's life but kept clean and dry. About the best life a document could expect I guess.:p

Re: Defense of Stalingrad medal certificate
That's a real nice one, Sergio. Other than that little stain it's very clean.
