Military Merit Order.
The Military Merit Order (Цэргийн Гавъяаны Одон) was founded on 17th October 1945 and is awarded to Officers and Soldiers of the Mongolian People's Army and employees of the Ministry Of Internal Affairs for strengthening the Mongolian People's Army or strengthening the nation from internal or external threats.
It came in Type 1 Variation 1 (Flat back with 3 rivets) Type 1 Variation 2 (Concave with 5 rivets) Type 2 (Pinback in Silver) Type 3 (Pinback in Brass) To date about 7,000 of these have been awarded. Here is Type 1 Variation 2 #3947.

Re: Military Merit Order.
Here is one of my 5-rivet T1V1 OCVs. I found this one earlier this year and loved the serial, #404. It is also displayed with the appropriate brass ribbon bar.

Re: Military Merit Order.
Again, great low-numbered find! Any idea on time period?

Re: Military Merit Order.
Hello, does the "blue book" give statistical tables?

Re: Military Merit Order.
According to Urnukh’s Blue Book, this order would have been awarded in 1954.
I have been lucky to acquire two of examples of this variation. This one I bought for $205, which in my opinion is a good price. The type 1, 5-rivet variation was limited to a mint run of 1000 pieces, which makes it one of the smaller batches of Mongolian ODM variations. |
