Tolkachev, Mihail Aleksandrovich, Lieutenant-Colonel, 22nd Guards Moto-Rifle Brigade
Parts of this group may have been shown before. As the research is untranslated except in the broadest summary terms, I can't add too much.
To begin with, closeups of the awards and an overview of the entire group. The top four suspension items are mounted, the others are loose (but arranged for the scan). The numbered goodies: -- Order of the Red Banner -- 270059 (for Berlin operations, reduced from a recommended Lenin) -- Order of the Partriotic War, 1st class -- 50201 (sorry, this rotated in scanning) -- Order of the Patriotic War, 1st class -- 128164 -- Order of the Partriotic War, 2nd class, 1985 jubilee -- this is complex: his was 3501188 and it has gone missing (though the document is present) -- what I show here (and what he wears?) is the one awarded to his wife (I have her documented group too), 3501187 (one number apart from his) -- he also wears her Veteran of Labor in the later photo (see below) -- Red Star -- 83449 -- Red Star -- 3230898 -- Medal of Combat Service -- unnumbered (while he wears one, a second one is shown in the records) |

Re: Lt-Col. Mikhail Aleksandrovich Tolkachev
Three representative photos of him from his long career: 1939, 1945, and late in life.

Re: Lt-Col. Mikhail Aleksandrovich Tolkachev
Most of the other award documents are pretty familiar stuff, but here are the "exotics".
-- CZECHOSLOVAKIA: Czechoslovak War Cross 1939 -- POLAND: Victory and Freedom Medal 1945 -- CHINA: China-USSR Friendship Medal (he has two, with documents in Chinese and the translated-into-Russian document) |

And samples from the other photographs.
If there is the interest, I could show more. |

Re: Lt-Col. Mikhail Aleksandrovich Tolkachev
Thanks for sharing this. It is very impressive to see so extensive group and spanning over a long career (and + you have his wife's documented group as well) :thumbsup
Always interesting to look at your items and feel free to share bio info you got. Cheers |

Re: Lt-Col. Mikhail Aleksandrovich Tolkachev
Thanks, RM2.
Her group is less impressive than her husband's. Last edited by medals73; 11-02-2011 at 01:07 PM. |
