forest warden cap

Hi folks,

for my 60th unique cap in my collection i wanned something special.
Than i found this one.

Any one a comment on it ?
I already changed the cord over since it had marks in the velvet for a gold cord.

as you know i collect any cap that was used in the time frame of 1969 till 1992.
This cap would fit in there cause it was used in that time, but this cap might be of a little earlier build, can anyone shine a light on that?

And i'm looking for tip's on how to correct the strange form the cap top has.
I already looked on the iron ring , but it seems the fabric is self creates this form.

Thanks,

Re: forest warden cap

Great cap! I think it might have been mid-1960's based on the cap badge; nice new one for your collection!

Re: forest warden cap

I would have to agree, it seems to be mid 60's. The form of the cap also tells a bit of its age. It looks fantastic. :D

Re: forest warden cap

Guys,

The crown is a bit too wide for a mid-1960's cap. I'd say post-1969 reform.

Re: forest warden cap

I myself was thing near the 1969 mark but no later than 1971 not earlier than 1968.
Just because of the crown form. It looks transitional to me.

The button's are still the 2 piece black back and lip attachment.
The material is of fine quality like the velvet.

How rare is this cap, in my 7 years of collecting orso i have never seen one.
And it was offered to me as a hard to get cap.

I paid around 100 euro for it, besides that i found it worth that price.
Was that fair?

Re: forest warden cap

Hi!

I believe that cap is quite rare. I have only seen one in sale.

I have similar, but with a plastic visor and a label is larger.

I believe your cap should have also those forestry -buttons.

Re: forest warden cap

Love the green velvet band. I wonder that the uniforms would be specialized as well (like customs, railroad directors, etc.)

Re: forest warden cap

I believe forestry officers had their own uniforms, I remember seeing one on epay, it was pretty plain and I'm not sure if it was real.

Re: forest warden cap

Wow how cool i wasnt realizing this cap was that rare.

the label is indeed very small ,, the smallest i have ever seen.

the buttons are the standard army one's.
maybe they were used because they run out of proper ones.
they seem proper to it time wise.
