Imperial Kolodkas.
I have two Imperial Russian medals with these two suspensions.
Anyone shed some light on them, just the hangers. |

Re: Need info on these medal hangers
Larry,
The second one looks like what it should be. The first one is very similar to the way the French wore their medals around WW1. Marc |

Re: Need info on these medal hangers
The 2nd one could be a replica, need better pictures with the ribbon removed.

Re: Ribbon removed
Larry,
I like your suspension, except for what looks like a replaced pin. Marc |

Re: Need info on these medal hangers
Yeah, it was the pin that didn't look right to me.

Re: Need info on these medal hangers
Thank you guys. I have a reproduction suspension like this and what is most likely a copy of a Czarist MVD medal and from this thread I figured out how to get the ribbon on my suspension and just managed to put the medal on without breaking anything!:D I picked up the medal in Moscow, but I never took it seriously because it was so inexpensive (and I've polished it many times over the years, so I kind of hope it is a copy).
Alexei, now all I need is the ribbon like the one in the picture (from M. Rogov's History of Awards and Insignia of Russian MVD, 1802 - 2002 ). You wouldn't know where a fellow might find one, do you?;) Phillip
