Christophe,
Great info, so it is indeed an official Order!
I wonder how much they would be worth? Any idea?

Eddie.

Eddie,

When Chechen separatists proclaimed independence of the Chechen Republic, they used the name "Chechen Republic of Ichkeria" to refer independent Chechnya.
The Federal Russian government refuses to recognize the separatist Chechen government. There are no countries that officially recognize Chechen independence.

Consequently, I don't think we can say it is an "official" order.

Sorry Christophe,
I didn't give a clear answer, what I actually meant by official is that it is an original issued award and not a cheap made up badge. The photo from E... does not do it any justice at all.
Do you have any idea what one of these are worth?
The one on offer seems to be the first class of this award.

TIA Eddie.

I've got both of them from eBay couple of years ago at $15 a piece.

I remember one European dealer offering these awards for $80-100 recently.

Thanks William,
$15 was a very good price then!
Pity they are not both on offer.

Eddie.

It would be interesting to gather photos of Chechens wearing awards as I suspect that many of the "official" ones are fantasy.

I am sceptical these are official awards.

They are very poorly made and just don't have that special feeling of real awards. But in case these are legit - how much of quality can one expect from conditions these rebel fighters operate?

I've never seen photos of actual Chechens wearig these badges.
