I'd be cautious with these badges in general, I have seen some rather good fakes circulating here. Based on the pictures you posted, :( :( :(

How big is the market for these badges, to attract fakers?

I see large quantities of these being offered every day. They must be faking these extensively, unless these were common. Does anyone have any statistics on how many of each honored title was awarded in the RSFSR. I know the quantities for Estonia, some, for example honored teacher were more than 500. If Russia is 100 times larger than Estonia, does that mean that there could have been 50,000 honored teachers of the RSFSR? If so, then these are common and overpriced in the west. The titles were awarded by the supreme soviet of the local government. Does anyone have a congressional register of the supreme soviet of the RSFSR? You could look and see how many were awarded.

A set that arrived recently. They are

Title “People’s Artist (painter) of the Russian SFSR” Medal, bronze gilt, rectangular suspension.

Title “Meritorious Art Worker of the Russian SFSR” copper-nickel, rectangular suspension.

Title “Meritorious Educator (master) of Youth of the Russian SFSR”, brass, rectangular suspension.

medals with red ribbon were issued in the Soviet period. The red-white-blue - in the post soviet time, but BEFORE a new design of the medal itself was introduced.

Hello Keith,

yes, it is true. The same honored title Teeneline sotsiaalhooldustöötaja was also instituted in the soviet estonia in 1978, until 1987 only 26 persons got it.
